Inma's story
Born in Spain, based in Edinburgh, queer. I am a freelance filmmaker with skills in cinematography, sound and editing, with a strong drive as director.
I graduated with a Masters of Fine Art in Film Directing at the Edinburgh College of Art. My documentary short To Be a Torero premiered at Sheffield Doc/Fest in 2018 and I am developing it as a feature film set in Spain, El Niño y el Traje de Luces or The Boy and the Suit of Lights (2021), with Aconite Productions and Rustic Canyon Pictures., funded by Screen Scotland. I was awarded the Chicken & Egg (Egg)celerator lab after pitching my feature at Docs Barcelona and the Edinburgh Pitch. The same year, I was selected to join Interaction in Serbia, where I directed Osamdeset Dinara, a short film that premiered in Belgrade.
I have been commissioned by Screen Scotland and Scottish Documentary Institute, through Bridging the Gap to direct Vivir Bailando, produced by Noe Mendelle, a short film that premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2019.
I have recently earned a credit as director with BBC Scotland and SDI on a 30min documentary called Isabel’s Independence, for iPlayer.
