Jenny's story:
Independent Doc Filmmaker / Creative Facilitator

Hello, my name is Jenny - I'm a documentary filmmaker & creative facilitator with a passion for community led storytelling & local change-making. I'm working towards a collective, sustainable, community led practice which explores our relationship with one another, and with the natural world.

I currently live in the beautiful city of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, and in the past year have worked as a co-producer on an exciting new feature length documentary - Poised , along with a number of short documentary films.

I also work part-time as a mentor for Beacon Films - a production company that supports that talents of Disabled, Deaf & Neurodiverse filmmakers. I'm also currently the resident filmmaker for the English Touring Theatre.

Before moving to Newcastle, I spent three years working at OTOXO productions - an independent production company in Spain committed to socially-motivated, creative documentary filmmaking and training.

I'm also involved in a number of creative & community projects in the city, including projecting/programming/volunteering at the Star & Shadow Cinema, and volunteering at the Baltic's Language Cafe.

I'm passionate about opening access to filmmaking, and to creativity in general, and would love the opportunity to collaborate on more community arts projects.

Wherever possible, I spend my time out in the hills & crags. I feel most at home in these natural environments, and I've recently begun to experiment with using my camera to document some of my outdoor adventures on rock & on bike..more to come I hope!
