Jodie's story
I emerged into the image-making industry at 17 years old because of my strong desire to tell stories. Above all, that is what I am here to do. Within the space of my camera’s frame, my aim is to create imagery that go beyond realism and into the realm of something much more cinematic and narrative. Having lived and worked in some of Scotland’s most sought-after areas for TV/film and photography, I've grown up with endless stimulation for my creativity. It is what enthralls me most and gives me the best ideas. The North has a unique culture and arts scene as well as landscape - that is what kept me here in the first place. When I moved to the city of Edinburgh in 2015, things really began to take off for me professionally. As well as working for some fantastic brands and agencies, I have been shortlisted for an art award with the UK's leading art publisher Washington Green, I have mentored by one of the world's most influential photographer/director Nick Knight, and I have created a deeply personal short film/doc around my old female powerlifting community.
